  • Introduction: Zoonosis, common diseases between humans and animals, is still one of the most important health problems. Brucellosis is a zoonosis with special health, economic and social importance.
  • Methods: This cross-sectional prospective study was conducted on data recorded from 2015 to 2019 in General Directorate of Veterinary Medicine and health centers and laboratories of Kohgiluyeh and Boyrahmad province.
  • Results: In Boyar Ahmad and Gachsaran cities, the percentage of brucellosis infection in cattle, sheep and goats has increased from 0%, 0% in 2014 to 0.25%, 9.5% and 8.7% in 2019, respectively. Malt fever in humans has been increasing in these two cities.
  • Conclusion: The presence of non-provincial nomadic livestock, especially in Isfahan province, in Gachsaran city, has faced a serious threat of this disease. One of the strategic mistakes in the veterinary organization's policy was injecting the RDRev1 vaccine into sheep and goats, due to the time limit for injecting pregnant and non-pregnant animals in the last one month, unfortunately, injecting the vaccine into sheep and goats in addition to causing abortions in livestock, Malt fever disease Humanity has also increased as a result.
